Day 1

Morning: Travel to Melbourne.

Afternoon: Arrive in Melbourne and check in to your centrally located hotel. Go on a scenic walking tour of the Southbank Promenade and the Royal Botanical Gardens on the banks of the Yarra River. 

Evening: Attend a performance by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne.

Day 2

Morning: Be a part of a Music Masterclass with a member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, a unique opportunity for your young musicians to learn from the best.

Afternoon: Visit Federation Square and Melbourne’s City Centre, complete with a walking tour of Melbourne's wonderful artistic alleyways. 

Evening: After a rehearsal at the venue, perform a concert in Melbourne.

Day 3

Morning: Attend a Composition Workshop with a composer and musicians from the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra. Have the brilliant opportunity of hearing your young musicians' music being brought to life by the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra's expert players along with guidance from an experienced composer.

Afternoon: Enjoy a backstage tour of the Arts Centre Melbourne to find out more about the inner workings of a world-class arts venue.

Evening: Attend a Chamber Music Concert at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra.

Day 4

Morning: Travel to Sydney.

Afternoon: Attend a Conducting Workshop with a conductor from Opera Australia. Give your young musicians the unique opportunity to learn the art of conducting from one of Opera Australia's in-house conductors. 

Evening: After a dinner overlooking Sydney Harbour, attend an Opera performance in the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Sydney Opera House.

Day 5

Morning: Enjoy a Guided Bus Tour of Sydney, featuring the main sights including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Afternoon: After the Bus Tour, your group gets to see the iconic sails up close, with a backstage walking tour of the Sydney Opera House.

Evening: After a day of sightseeing, it's time to get back into concert mode for the final performance of the tour by your group in Sydney.

DAY 6

Morning: Depart from Sydney.

Day 1

All Day: Travel to Hong Kong.

Day 2

Morning: Arrive in Hong Kong and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Travel on the Ngong Ping 360 (one of the world’s top 10 cable car rides), a 25-minute scenic ride that connects Ngong Ping plateau with the town of Tung Chung and see the spectacular Tian Tan Buddha (the Big Buddha) from up high.

Afternoon: In the afternoon we will visit bustling local markets in Hong Kong where you can try your luck at haggling for a bargain!

Evening: Enjoy a dinner of local cuisine and then attend a performance at Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Day 3

Morning: In the morning we visit a school in Hong Kong and experience a cultural exchange with the students. Your group will have the opportunity to perform a short concert for the students at the school and to find out more about life in Hong Kong, before both groups enjoy lunch together prior to departure.

Afternoon: Visit Ocean Park Hong Kong. See Ocean Park’s giant pandas and Chinese alligators, and enjoy the many thrill rides at the park.

Evening: Dinner at Ocean Park before returning to the hotel.

Day 4

All Day: Visit Disneyland Hong Kong. Perform a concert at Disneyland Hogn Kong. Experience the many attractions and entertainment shows on offer and enjoy lunch and dinner at the themed restaurants in the park.

Day 5

Morning: Visit a second school in Hong Kong. Enjoy a cultural activity with the students. Perform a short concert for the school. Lunch at the school prior to departure.

Afternoon: Travel by coach to Hong Kong airport. Flight Hong Kong to Beijing.

Evening: On arrival travel by coach to our hotel. Enjoy a dinner of local cuisine.

Day 6

Morning: Visit a school in Beijing. Enjoy a cultural activity with the students. Perform a concert. Lunch at the school prior to departure.

Afternoon: Visit Tiananmen Square in the centre of Beijing, where the student-led protests of 1989 took place. Afterwards, visit the Forbidden City, which was the Chinese imperial palace from 1420 to 1912, and is now the spectacular Palace Museum.

Evening: Enjoy dinner and attend a performance in Beijing. This could include Kung-Fu, a traditional Peking Opera performance or a performance at Tianqiao Performing Arts Centre.

Day 7

Morning and Afternoon: Morning and Afternoon: Full day excursion to the spectacular Great Wall, complete with a ride down the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall by luge. Hayllar Music Tours will explore whether a concert can be arranged at the Great Wall.

Evening: Enjoy a dinner of traditional local cuisine.

Day 8

Morning: Visit the Summer Palace, a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens, and the Temple of Heaven, a tranquil oasis of peace in one of China’s busiest urban landscapes. Enjoy our final lunch in China before departing for the airport.

Afternoon: Travel by coach to Beijing Airport. Depart China.

Day 1

All Day: Travel to Berlin.

Day 2

Morning: Arrive in Berlin and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Afternoon: To blow off the cobwebs of the long journey, we go on a sightseeing tour of Berlin to acquaint ourselves with the city. Learn more about famous landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Cathedral.

Evening: After a busy afternoon of sightseeing, settle in for a quiet evening for the chance to adjust to the time difference and to rest ahead of a busy day of music-making tomorrow.

Day 3

Morning: In the morning your group has the unique opportunity to be part of a musical workshop with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, often labelled the world's best symphony orchestra.

Afternoon: Sit in on a rehearsal for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra ahead of this evening's concert, a wonderful to chance to see the orchestra fine-tuning their repertoire for tonight's performance in the Berlin Philharmonie.

Evening: Attend a concert at the Berlin Philharmonie by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Day 4

Morning: Continuing on from yesterday's day of music-making, enjoy another great workshop with the Deutsches Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin or Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin to perfect your groups' music-making for this evening's concert.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance. 

Evening: Perform a concert in Berlin.

Day 5

Morning: Travel by coach to Leipzig and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Afternoon: Enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing in the historic city of Leipzig, including finding out more about Johann Sebastian Bach's time as Choir Director of the St. Thomas Church, Leipzig.

Evening: Attend a concert in Leipzig by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra at the spectacular Leipzig Gewandhaus.

Day 6

Morning: Be a part of a musical workshop with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, one of the finest German orchestras.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance.

Evening: Perform a concert in Leipzig.

Day 7

Morning: Travel by coach to Prague and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Afternoon: Attend a workshop with the Czech Philharmonic.

Evening: Enjoy an evening of sightseeing in Prague, including visiting the incredible Charles Bridge, built in 1357, and the Prague Astronomical Clock.

Day 8

Morning: Enjoy a River Cruise on Vltava River, taking in sights such as Prague Castle, the Czech Bridge, the Charles Bridge, and the Rudolfinum and the National Theatre.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance.

Evening: Perform a concert in Prague.

Day 9

Morning: Travel by coach to Vienna and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Afternoon: Enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing in Vienna, where contemporary and historic buildings coexist in an impressive and striking way. Find out more about the Karlskirche, the Vienna State Opera, the Natural History Museum, the Parliament building and St. Stephen's Cathedral.

Evening: Attend a concert at the beautiful Musikverein with the Vienna Philharmonic, often considered to be one of the world's finest orchestras.

Day 10

Morning: Experience a workshop with musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic.

Afternoon: Enjoy a visit to the thrilling Prater Fun Park located in central Vienna, with its iconic giant Ferris Wheel.

Evening: In the evening, attend a concert at the exquisite Vienna State Opera.

Day 11

Morning: After yesterday evening's performance, find out more about this historic venue with a guided backstage tour of the Vienna State Opera House.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance.

Evening: Perform a concert in Vienna.

Day 12

Morning: Travel by coach to Munich and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Afternoon: Arrive in Munich and enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing in this wonderful city. Take in sights such as the Nymphenburg Palace and the Englischer Garten, not to mention the stunning Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) in Marienplatz.

Evening: Attend a concert in Munich by the Munich Philharmonic or at the Munich Opera.

Day 13

Morning: Your group gets to enjoy one final workshop on the tour, this time with musicians from the Munich Philharmonic.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance.

Evening: Perform a concert in Munich, followed by a final celebratory meal of traditional German specialties to mark the end of the tour.

Day 1

Morning: Travel to Shanghai.

Evening: Arrive in Shanghai and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Day 2

Morning: Enjoy an immersion tour of the city including a visit to the Bund (the waterfront area in Shanghai), Jade Buddha Temple and the Oriental TV Tower where we enjoy spectacular views across the city.

Afternoon: Kick off the tour's performances with a concert in Shanghai.

Day 3

Morning and Afternoon: Experience guided tours of the Yu Gardens and the City God Temple in the Old City of Shanghai and the bustling Nanjing Road Markets.

Evening: Attend a traditional Shanghai acrobatic show.

Day 4

Morning and Afternoon: Be part of a school visit and perform a concert for local school children. The visit would include a tour of the school, a music workshop with students from both schools and a joint concert.

Evening: Take part in a traditional Chinese musical instrument concert and lesson. Following a performance by experts of Chinese music, the students would have a music lesson and learn to play traditional Chinese musical Instruments.

Day 5

Morning: Travel from Shanghai to Beijing on a thrilling high-speed train.

Afternoon: Arrive in Beijing and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Evening: In the afternoon and evening, your group has the opportunity to go on a guided tour of the world-famous Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

Day 6

Morning and Afternoon: Enjoy an excursion to the Great Wall of China with a knowledgeable local guide. Your group would explore the Mutianyu section of the wall and ascend Ming Dynasty watchtowers for panoramic views of the spectacular surrounding scenery.

Evening: After a full day of exploring the Great Wall of CHina, in the evening we attend a Kung-Fu show or a traditional Peking Opera. Both art forms are among the cultural treasures of China. Peking Opera illustrates how music and vocal performance are combined with mime, dance and acrobatics. The accompaniment for a Peking opera performance usually consists of a small ensemble of traditional melodic and percussion instruments.

Day 7

Morning: Your group has the great opportunity to perform a concert inside the Temple of Heaven Park, a wonderful example of Imperial Chinese design.

Afternoon: After the concert, we travel to the remarkable National Centre for the Performing Arts for a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour of this unique venue.

Evening: In the early evening we travel to the Summer Palace for a guided tour which includes a Dragon Boat ride on the beautiful Kunming Lake.

Day 8

Morning: We conclude our time in China and take a flight from Beijing to Osaka.

Afternoon: Arrive in Osaka and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Evening: After settling in to our hotel in Osaka, we attend a Japanese Bunraku performance (a traditional Puppet Theatre performance). Bunraku includes three kinds of performers, the puppeteers themselves, chanters and shamisen musicians, that ismusicians using traditional Japanese three-stringed musical instruments.

Day 9

Morning: For the first morning in Japan, your group gets to try their hand at Taiko drumming. The morning begins with a performance from Taiko masters, before your students have the chance to learn rom the best and to give this ancient art form a go themselves.

Afternoon: With the beat of the drums in their hearts, enjoy a guided tour of the city including the Dotonbori Canal and Shinsaibashi Shopping Street.

Evening: Visit Osaka Castle and perform a concert in the castle's gardens, one of Japan’s most famous landmarks.

Day 10

Morning: Travel from Osaka to Kyoto on a high-speed train.

Afternoon: Arrive in Kyoto and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Evening: Enjoy a visit to Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion) and perform a concert at the Zen Buddhist temple. After the performance, experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Day 11

Morning: In the morning the group goes on a guided tour of Kyoto including a visit to Nijō Castle, Kiyomizu-dera Temple and the Gion district.

Afternoon: The traditional music lessons continue, this time with a traditional Japanese musical instruments concert and lesson. The experience begins with a performance of traditional Japanese musical instruments, followed by a music lesson on the Japanese koto (13-stringed zither).

Evening: Enjoy a free evening in beautiful Kyoto.

Day 12

Morning: Travel from Kyoto to Tokyo on a high-speed train.

Afternoon: Arrive in Kyoto and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Evening: After arriving at our hotel, we enjoy a guided tour of the city including Sensō-ji (Asakusa-Kannon) Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade.

Day 13

Morning and Afternoon: Experience a school visit and perform a concert. The visit would include a tour of the school, a music workshop with students from both schools and a joint concert.

Evening: In the evening we attend a Gagaku performance. Gagaku is ancient court music and it is the oldest type of Japanese traditional music.

Day 14

Morning: This morning we visit Meiji Shrine and Gyoen National Garden and perform a concert.

Afternoon: This afternoon we visit the famous Shibuya Crossing for many a photo opportunity!

Evening: Attend a Kabuki performance. This entertaining, classical Japanese theatre features elaborate costumes, make-up and highly stylized dancing. It is rich in varieties of music including stylized singing accompanied by shamisen playing, shamisen music without singing, and other varieties of musical instruments.

Day 15

Full Day: Experience a full day excursion to Disneyland Tokyo experiencing the rides and attractions!

Day 15

Morning and Afternoon: Perform the final concert of the tour at the morning service at the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Yokohama.

Evening: Depart Tokyo.

Day 16

Afternoon: Arrive home.

Morning: Have the fantastic opportunity to experience an audition seminar at the Royal Northern College of Music, finding out all those top tips for future auditions.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance. 

Evening: Perform a concert in Manchester.

Morning: Travel by coach from Manchester to Edinburgh and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

Afternoon: Enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing in Edinburgh, taking in sights such as Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Mile and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Evening: In the evening, enjoy a dinner of traditional Scottish food!

Morning: The musical experiences continue this morning with a workshop from the musicians of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Afternoon: Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance.

Evening: Perform a concert in Edinburgh.

DAY 7

Morning and Afternoon: Spend the morning visiting the spectacular Edinburgh Castle, dating from the 12th Century.

Evening: See the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in action with a performance at the intimate Queen's Hall Edinburgh.

DAY 8

All day: Travel by coach through scenic Scottish and English countryside all the way from Edinburgh to London and check in to your centrally-located hotel.

DAY 9

Morning: Enjoy a relaxing morning after the day of travelling yesterday.

Afternoon:  Travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's performance.

Evening: Perform a concert in London.

DAY 10

Morning and Afternoon: Experience the sights of London with this wonderful sightseeing tour. Take in Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, the City of London, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square.

Evening: Travel to the Royal Festival Hall for a world-class orchestral performance from the Philharmonia Orchestra. 

Day 11

Morning: Get amazing tips and training from musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra. 

Afternoon: Attend an audition seminar at the Royal College of Music in London for more top tips on those future auditions from some of the world's best music educators. 

Evening: Enjoy a dinner in South Kensington and then attend a performance at the famous Royal Albert Hall.

DAY 12

Morning: Travel by coach from London to Oxford. 

Afternoon: Enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing in this historic town, taking in sights such as University College Oxford and Christ Church, and the beautiful Bridge of Sighs and the Radcliffe Camera. After the sightseeing, travel to the venue and rehearse for this evening's concert.

Evening: Perform a concert in Oxford. After the concert, return to London by coach.

Day 13

Morning: Continue the insightful musical education of the tour with a masterclass and workshop from musicians of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Afternoon: Attend a rehearsal at the Barbican Centre of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Evening: After a day of interaction with musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra, see them in action in their London home at the Barbican Centre.

Day 14

Morning: Travel to The Shard, London's tallest building, for a trip to the top for spectacular views across London.

Afternoon: Enjoy lunch at one of London's oldest markets, Borough market, overlooked by the spectacular Southwark Cathedral, now home to many of the cities best food producers. After lunch, travel to the venue to and rehearse for this evening's concert.

Evening: Perform a the final concert of the tour in London and afterwards enjoy a celebratory farewell meal.

Day 15

Morning: Depart London.
